Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 16, 2026

1. Our Privacy Philosophy

Remido was built on the principle of extreme minimalism—not just in design, but in data. We believe your tasks and reminders are personal. Our privacy policy is simple: your data belongs to you, and it stays with you.

2. Local-First Data Storage

Remido operates as a "local-first" extension. This means that every task you create, every reminder you set, and every preference you adjust is stored directly on your physical device using Chrome’s secure local storage API.

We do not operate any centralized servers, databases, or cloud syncing services. Consequently, we cannot access, read, or monetize your data because we never receive it.

3. Permissions & Functionality

To provide its core features, Remido requires specific browser permissions. Here is a transparent breakdown of why we use them:

  • Storage: Required to save and retrieve your to-do lists locally on your computer.
  • Alarms: Required to trigger reminders at the exact time you specify.
  • Notifications: Required to display a system alert when a task is due.
  • ContextMenus: Allows you to right-click text on any webpage to instantly create a new task.

4. Zero Data Transmission

We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or "phone-home" scripts. No data is shared with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party service providers. Your productivity workflow remains entirely private within your browser environment.

5. Data Control & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally in your browser, you have absolute control over it. You can delete your tasks at any time within the extension. Uninstalling the Remido extension will automatically clear all data stored by the extension from your local machine.
